InterKn and Dragana Mendel have joined forces to produce a podcast on the impotance of finding a proper technology-product-market fit in order to win a SBIR/STTR grant. Because technology commercialization pathway is now an important element in SBIR/STTR grant application, the podcast episode explained why is it difficult to find product-market fit and then how to find this fit using proper customer discovery process along with market research.

Presentation at Duke University: How to get a job with a startup
For the second year in the row, Duke University has invited Dragana Mendel to present to the class of over 150 students in Master of Engineering Management program and talk what does it take to get a job with a high growth startup upon graduation. Students were highly engaged during an hour long presentation and have asked over a dozen questions following presentation. The firm is very exited to move to their new, modern offices within Falls of Neuse Office Park as they continue to provide business growth consulting services to entrepreneurs. As soon as firm consultants settle into a new office space, they plan on expanding their service to small business and startup community in Raleigh-Durham metro area by hosting monthly breakfast business clinics (coffee and pastries will be provided) where entrepreneurs can get free business advice in a comfortable, casual setting.

NCSU MBA Class of 2015 Case Competition
Dragana Mendel has been invited by her alma matter, NCSU Jenkins MBA program, to be one of the judges during the case competition for the incoming full-time class. She gave valuable feedback to five teams; she is very impressed with the quality of presentations and depth of analysis by the incoming class of 2016.
Earlier in the year, in May, she has been invited by NCSU Solar Center to provide feedback and guidance on the business plan and investor's pitch to professionals graduating with CREM certificate who plan to launch their solar panel installation business.
Launched Cleantech Open Southeast Region 2014 Kickoff at HQ Raleigh
Inaugural year for Cleantech Open Southeast Region accelerator in North Carolina has been really successful for local startups as three out of five regional winners call Triangle home. Dragana Mendel has been highlighted by the Poole College of Management Sustainability Initiative as successful alumna. The Poole College of Management's Sustainability Initiative was established to advance sustainability as a set of decision challenges balancing financial, social and environmental returns.
Earning an MBA from Poole College not only gave me the necessary skills to be a management consultant; it helped me establish my niche. I help grow early stage technology companies trying to solve current environmental and energy problems. I also serve as the North Carolina Ambassador to the Cleantech Open national accelerator. My experience at Poole was instrumental in giving me the necessary hands on experience and tools to build successful technology startups from ground up. 7ED Technology, NCSU spin-off startup, business competition winner
NC State's Entrepreneurship Initiative handed out some $30,000 in prizes to new and emerging companies in its annual Lulu eGames contest. Top prize of $5,000 went to 7ED, a startup using technology developed at NCSU for chip substrate defect reduction.
First Place ($5,000): 7ED, formerly named Lucky 7, is an upcoming company capitalizing on the patent-pending Substrate Defect Reduction (SSDR) technology from NC State University. 7ED team members are Dragana Mendel, Garrett Foster, Michael Teal, and Xiaoyang Wang.
Dragana Mendel works as a Consultant for SBTDC
Dragana Mendel '12, a Jenkins MBA student in the NC State Poole College of Management, fully embraces sustainability. As part of her studies in the program's technology entrepreneurship and commercialization concentration, Mendel works with a team of Ph.D. students to develop technologies for the clean technology sector. Additionally, she is vice president of communications for the NC State Net Impact organization which raises awareness of the role of business in sustainability.
NCSU Net Impact Chapter is hosting the First Sustainability Interchange to connect local businesses to NCSU students and to demonstrate to students the large scope of sustainability arena. We will have to two keynote speakers and five expert panels on: Sustainability in Universities, Innovation in the Sustainable Economy, Sustainability in Municipalities, Energy Efficiency Panel, and Renewable Energy Panel.
